Quilt of Valor...
Because November 10th was 242nd birthday of the United States Marine.
Because November 11th was Veterans Day.
Because November 19th was the mister's birthday.
Because it's been 50 years since his homecoming from his two tours in Vietnam.
Because the mister is still a Marine, right down to his skivvies.
Because Quilts of Valor is a national organization that honors Veterans, from all wars.
Because My Veteran likes cake, even one that slid apart 5 minutes before the festivities began and had to be propped up to keep from sliding off the plate.
Thank you Linda Myrick, Foundation Representative with Quilts of Valor in Washington for the beautiful quilt, it will be treasured, and the lovely worded certificate and for welcoming him home.
Thank you friends and family who came and celebrated the old Marine with us.
Thank you to the young Marines who came and shook the old Marine's hand.
Thank you to the Marines and Soldiers who are still in uniform, still serving our country.
My heart is full.
