Quilt Group Friday...
I uploaded the pictures from my camera this morning, all 846 of them, all taken in the last 13 days! I know some of you take that many pictures in a day, (you know who you are!) but I'm an old-fashioned picture-taker (I dare not say photographer!) who remembers having only 24 pictures available on my disposable-cameras...the ones I would take to the drug store to be developed, so I had to be very selective with my picture taking and I think that's when I learned to be a one-click kind of gal...You are all familiar with my fuzzy-blurry-hope-you-can-guess-what-it-is-because-I-only-took-one-picture pictures! This morning I thoroughly enjoyed looking back on the last several days - It's been a whirlwind of fun around here and I can't wait to show you what we've been up to! The first pictures I'm posting are of quilts I saw at the Block Party Quilt Show last month, these were the ones I really liked...and I did write down the names of the people who made them on a little slip of paper and tucked it securely in my pocket...but surely even you know by now, that little piece of paper is long gone! So my apologies to the wonderful quilters of the quilts below!

It was bound to happen - just turn your head, I figured that would be easier than me trying to find out how to fix the picture!

This is the only quilt that I remember the quilter's name and that's because she was the featured artist at the show, Sherry Thomas. Sherry was a former member of our quilt group and she does beautiful work, as you can see! This is one of her older quilts, made of all hand-dyed wool, it's pretty spectacular!

Oh I know...I SHOULD know how to fix this but as I have already established time and time again, I only KNOW what I KNOW and I am not capable of knowing MORE! So just turn your heads to the side and enjoy this incredible quilt!
This one is just for me, to remind me that I need to make my Max a Sasquatch quilt before someone tells him they might not be real!!! Right now he is still a believer and it's so fun to walk with him in the woods and hear him tell me all the things I've told him about Big Foot...brainwashing grandkids is a grandma's right! That's the last of the pictures from the quilt show so now let me show you the quilts from our quilt group meeting!
Helen's latest Christmas creation...she is the master when it comes to color! Oh to have her brain for a day! Every now and then I try to "channel my inner Helen" but it turns out I don't have one!
This is a simple rail-fence...but there is nothing simple about this quilt if you ask me! The placement of the fabrics makes this quilt more than simple! I love the white fabric with the cars with the trees on top - so cute! I try to take notes at our meetings so I can remember who did what and I wrote down that Helen showed two quilts and then I wrote that Helen said More is always Better! I'm not sure what she was referring to when she said that but that saying applies to almost every situation, especially those involving fabric!
Stephanie showed us her yellow and green 9-patch, fresh from the quilter - Stephanie is really good with deciding what kind of quilting to do on a quilt...I'm just a stippler...that will probably, be my epitaph...
Kareena showed us her Kaffe quilt that she is just finishing the binding on - notice those little clips? They are quilt clips and they hold the binding in place...I swear it's new to me every stinkin' day! How is it I am always the last to know?!?! This quilt is just F U N !
Shelly showed us this sweet Calendar Snowman quilt - which is all hand-quilted! It looks snuggly and warm, too, no?
Shelly also brought this Christmas table topper...if I had more time I would make a bunch of toppers just like this for gifts this year...if only my intentions could be gifts!!
Shelly made this mini-log cabin quilt...this would be my down-fall...anything mini, where precision matters...nope, cain't do it! I would rather have root canal surgery without anesthesia than try to make a mini-quilt! But I LOVE this one, Shelly!
Marsha's Sherbet quilt is all done! For someone who says she never finishes a quilt, she's finished quite a few lately! Way to go Marsha!
Diane showed us her Harvest Quilt - just take a minute to look at the beautiful fabric she used...she just couldn't bring herself to cut it up so she made a whole-cloth quilt and we loved it! Now, in a perfect world, this is MY kind of quilt...down and dirty as they say, meaning fast and easy!
Hi Marsha! She's busy working away on binding - gotcha! This is Barbara's latest Christmas quilt...it's just like Diane's quilt that I posted pics of last month...and apparently it was not an easy quilt to make because of the step-down blocks...so I shant be making myself one!
This is what Barbara is working on now - pumpkins! This is a great way to use up scraps and Barbara, if you run out, I've got oodles of pumpkin scraps you can use! This is going to be a very cute quilt! That's it folks, it was quite a show! Now our group is looking forward to our annual Christmas party and gift exchange...I have exactly one week to get my gift started and finished...that should be plenty of time, right?!? Wish me luck!
