Max:  Gramma, I want you make me a cake that is 1/3 planets, 1/3 Beanie Boo, and 1/3 Prius.

Yes, you read that right, 1/3 PRIUS, as in the car!!!  What a little character Max is!  He has a "thing" for Prius'...it's the only car he likes and there's something about the back end of a Prius that fascinates him.  Max is under the delusion that I can just whip up whatever he wants!  I almost told him no, no Max, Gramma cannot make a Prius out of cake but really,  how could I refuse?!?  I did tell him that I would try and then I explained to him that even though people try really hard to do something, it doesn't always work out the way they'd hoped and sometimes they fail.  He listened very intently to me trying to lower the bar and when I was finished he said, "Could you make it a white Prius please?" 

Turns out, making a Prius out of cake is not in my wheelhouse, but Max loved it so that's all that matters...and he still thinks his gramma can make anything out of cake!   When it was time to cut into it I asked him which piece he wanted and he said, "I would like the sun roof and the rear tire."  Oh he also said the red and blue cake planet looked, "...very similar to Planet #17985002, which is not in our solar system." 

The girl and fam recently moved into a new house and during the move Max's wooden bed took a direct hit from something and was deemed unfit for Max to sleep on.  When I arrived Max's box spring and mattress were on the floor, and he was perfectly fine with that but I was not!  So for his birthday we went to IKEA, their favorite place to shop...Elsa is pushing one of our THREE carts!

 

Once back at their house it took 3 adults and 3 hours to assemble Max's new bed!  When Max got home from school we surprised him with his new loft bed with a desk underneath.  He walked into the room, saw the bed and started jumping up and down and said, "This is the best day of my life!" 

Happy Birthday Maxy, I want you to grow up, just not so fast!  I love you, Gramma.
