This is why I love quilt group projects...

Everyone makes blocks, I make 2 or 3 or 8, and in no time (in quilting speak, "no time" means anything from one to two years) I have a new quilt to love!

Scrappy whites and creams make up the background for the Churn Dash blocks, which sew up really quick.  I love the colors - I wanted something Fall-ish, so I asked my quilt group friends to use gold, brown, gray or black fabrics and they picked the perfect ones!

Twenty-five 9-inch blocks make up the quilt top and with sashing and borders, the quilt measures 60x60-inches, making it the perfect quilt to curl up in to watch all of the new Hallmark Channel Christmas movies!  That's right!  Every Saturday night there is a new movie!  The mister and I try to figure out the "plot" within the first 10 minutes and 9 out of 10 times we're right!  Then the mister proceeds to talk and complain through the entire rest of the movie because he's figured it out yet I still want to watch, you know, just to make sure.  I always tell him, "When they kiss I'll let you change the channel," but they don't ever kiss until the very end so I win every time!

This quilt is so soft - I used Hobbs 80/20 batting which is my favorite.  Thanks to my quilting friends who helped me with this one - I'm so thankful for them and the talents they so freely share - which is why this quilt will be thought of as our Thanksgiving quilt from now on!
