As it turns out 2013 was not a great year for quilts.  Last year I only managed to either make or finish 7 quilts - that's some kind of record for me...a lousy one!  P I T I F U L  in fact.  Compared to 2012, where I made or finished 17 quilts it's downright shameful.  And I can't swear to it but and I don't believe I had taken any performance enhancing drugs that year!  But maybe it's time I took some now...are there Quilting Performance Enhancing drugs out there?  Bernina Ludes?  (Does anyone even remember what a lude is?!?!  Hahahaha, I make myself laugh!)  Pfaff Speed?  Ritalin Vitamins?  A little blue pill with a detachable thimble?  With or without drugs, it's time I ramped things up...as I look around the nerve center this morning, I can count 8 projects in various stages and those are just the ones I can see...time to hunker down and get something done.

The quilt on the bottom right is one of two quilts I made for myself last year - those others were made for friends/family.

The quilt below is the other quilt I made for myself - actually I finished it last year - the top was started about 15 years ago - it had properly aged and so it was ready to be finished!

This year I'd like to finish the 8 projects that currently in the aging process and start at least 8 more...you're not a real quilter unless you have as many projects in the works as ones you want to make!  Feel free to quote me!

But first I need to clean my workroom...this is what it always looks like after the Christmas rush...it becomes the dumping ground in our house but today is the day I reclaim it...pray for me...I'm putting on my haz-mat suit and I'm going in! "After" pictures will be posted, provided I survive.
