Baby it's cold outside...and snow is in the forecast! That's something to be excited about around here, as long as we are toasty warm inside with a mug of winter wassail there will be no complaints about snow! This is soooooo easy and you can't mess it up as long as you start with two key ingredients...
Trader's Joe's Winter Wassail and Martinelli's Sprakling Apple Cranberry Cider. Joe's wassail is good on it's own but with the addition of the Martinelli's and fruit, it's even better! Pour equal parts Trader Joe's Winter Wassail and Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Cranberry Cider into a large container.
Now the fun part...slice up a whole orange and apple and add them to the mix along with a cinnamon stick, about a teaspoon full of whole cloves and the arils from half of a pomegranate.
Let this all sit in the container on your counter for an hour or so and then give it all a good mash. The longer it sits the better it tastes, but after 5 hours put it in the refrigerator. It will keep for two days in the fridge. You can drink it cold over ice or heat it up for a nice mug of delicious winter love.
We've been sipping on this since the wassail first appeared on the shelves at Trader Joe's back before Thanksgiving...hopefully they'll still have some for a while because it's quite addictive and apparently I'm a wassail addict!
