Dear Blog Friends...I'm hoping you'll take a few minutes today to send a birthday card to Florence Piene, who turns 100 years old on July 12th! 100!! Sheesh! While that might seem old, Florence shows no sign of slowing down! Florence's daughter, Bev, sent out this request:
I thought it might be fun to fill her mailbox with birthday cards or birthday notes. A friend of mine did this when Florence turned 80 years old. The mailman commented at the time, "Who is Florence Peine - she sure gets a lot of mail." Hopefully we can fill her mailbox even more on this, her hundredth birthday. It'll be fun for her to see what cities, states, and maybe countries they come from.
She currently lives in an assisted living facility, and is still very independent. She enjoys Bingo, outings, knitting, and listening to the Twins Baseball. She is an inspiration to all who come in contact with her.
