Calling all Quilters! By now I'm sure you've heard about the terrible mudslide that hit the little town of Oso, Washington. It's been on our news constantly and there is no shortage of tears around here. Such a sad, sad thing. The Quiltmaker's Shoppe in Arlington, WA, one of the towns hit hard by the mudslide, is sponsoring a project to help those affected. They are asking for 9-inch blocks, which will be made into quilts to be given away to those families affected by the slide, including the rescue teams and volunteers. If you would like to help, please click on their link, go to their site and read about how you can!

Now, let's get on with our little show - it was short and sweet, but oh so fun!
This is one LONG quilt! Lori made this for her mom many years ago and I think I might have shown it to you way back when but it's definitely worth another look. Lori's mom and dad had seven children, so there are seven vertical rows in this quilt with a house in each row - each row represents one of those children. Above and below those houses are blocks that have been embroidered with the names of grandkids and great-grands. I don't remember how many great-grands there are, but it's in the hundreds! Every time someone had a baby, Lori embroidered their name on the quilt - now this is a real heirloom!
Lori's mom recently passed away so the quilt was returned to Lori and now it will hang in her home. Such a loving family tribute!
Lori made this quilt for her mom - it's all hand-appliqued and it's so soft and sweet. So glad I remembered I had a FLASH on my camera so I could get a decent picture! I do try folks, honest!
This bunny quilt has been seen here before but I think it should be shown annually because it's SO cute! Lori made this one and Terry quilted it - so beautiful! Do you have your Easter quilts out yet? What's that? You don't have an Easter quilt? Well, get busy!
The quilts Stephanie made for her twin grandsons who are due to be born very soon, are now finished - they are very modern, artsy and fun - just like Stephanie!
Wow! Just Wow! This quilt, in person, is a show-stopper! Janet made this and I love all of the different reds she used - plus - look at that saw-tooth border! When I get the body of a quilt pieced I am SO ready to be done with it which is why my borders are usually very simple! Way to go Janet!
Denise turned her cup blocks into a runner and placemats - I love the "steam" on these blocks!
Remember this quilt? Jenny brought it last month to show. She made it for a wedding gift and now it's all quilted and bound and you needed to see the feather quilting - truly beautiful! Lucky bride and groom!
Jenny showed us these blocks her sister-in-law made for her - she's not sure what to do with them but we all had a lot of opinions to help (or not) her!
Terry brought in her Dr. Seuss circle quilt - it's bright, happy and fun! Take note of how she did her borders - piecing a different fabric around the corners - it gives this quilt such a great finish!
Years ago our group made blocks for Marsha - and she still hasn't sewn them together! What's the hold-up, you ask? Well, it could be that most of the blocks are different sizes...or the points were cut off...or the colors were wrong...but after playing with different fabrics and moving things around, the group gave Marsha some ideas on how to finally get this one sewn together!
And that's it! Oh, yours truly had a few tops to show but I'll share them with you in another post...that is called dangling the carrot...so you'll be sure to come back!
