Today, two days before the big game, I'm giving you ten of my favorite football/game day recipes. They are all winners and you will score big points if you make these! I will probably make most of these in the next two days, along with the recipes I've given you in the last four days (just scroll down to see them)...I'd hate to run out of food! Remember the Super Bowl is really FOUR hours or so of non-stop eating!! That's a lot of food!
Buffalo Blue CheeseSteak Stuffed Peppers
Seriously good game day food. Green peppers stuffed with steak, Blue cheese, onions and Tobasco...think Buffalo Wings meets Philly Cheesesteak. Awesomness in a nice little package. If you want to think Buffalo Wings meet Philly Cheesesteak meets Don Juan Diego, stuff jalapenos instead of green peppers...BaZing!
Crab Stuffed Portobello Wedges
These Crab Stuffed Portobello Wedges won me a nice little gift package from Ted's Montana Grill...so I can honestly say these are Award Winning. And you can say it, too, when you serve them up on game day...or just say winning...in your best Charlie Sheen voice...either way, they are and the Seahawks will.
Yes. Two stuffed mushroom recipes because two is always better than one. Feel free to quote me on that. And these little babies will not disappoint - they are my go-to appetizer because everyone loves them. Cream cheese, green onion, Parmesan and bacon...you will be stuffed and oh so happy. Make a double batch - you won't be sorry.
Serve this up with crackers for your high-brow friends or with Fritos for your really good friends - the caramelized onions and the fresh green onions will have them all bellied up to the ball in no time! This is the only cheese ball I ever make...I've tried others but I always come back to this.
Men, women and children love these! They are highly addictive, as in you can't eat just one, two or even three! Remember to pace yourself or you might end up feeling rather round yourself! I know that feeling well, reminds me of the joke about "the shape I'm in? Round is a shape..." something like that. I'll try to hold it at three!
These HAVE to be on your game day menu - I know they'll be on mine! They are one of my very favorite appetizers...and they fly off the plate! Even the mister, who hates things he can't pronounce, loves these. If you don't have the time to roast mini-eggplants, then serve the Caponata on crackers or French bread or crostini...whatever you want, just make it!
If the pre-game show is almost over and you're out of time, this is the appetizer to make...super easy, super good, Super Bowl food for sure! Crispy salami topped with sour cream and fresh basil...they go down so, so easy! Your caveman will love 'em!
Hands down, this is the perfect game day food...nothing else compares! Just think about this a minute...tater tots wrapped in bacon and baked until they are crispy...have a defibrillator on hand because these are heart-stopping good!
Yes, yes, yes, you've had hot artichoke dip before - with Parmesan cheese or maybe with spinach...I spit on that...this is nothing like that...this is decadent. Period. Decadent. Hot and spicy marinated artichokes and not a speck of Parmesan...only Asiago cheese and cream cheese...let me put it to you straight...this is worth the calories!
I'm a firm believer that fresh veggies should be at every party...as decoration. But these Zucchini Roll Ups are SO good they might even fly off the plate faster than the Bacon Wrapped Tater Tots...hahahaha...as if. For your football friends who are vegetarian, dieting or who just want to eat something crisp, clean and fresh that's really, really good...make these. Promise they are worth the time and effort. Pinky swear!
Okay, that's it - ten of the best game-day foods you can have at your party. You don't have to make all ten, but then again, you could...and then you'd be guarandamteed the Superest of Super Bowl Parties! Say it with me one more time...GO HAWKS!!!
