A while back my niece posted pics on Facebook of two paintings she had done of her dogs. They were bright and happy and looked just like sweet little Lillie (on the left below) and her brother Cooper, both Jack Russels. I asked her for the details, as in who painted them, and she introduced me to Leslie Peterson - an amazingly talented artist who paints vibrant, colorful pictures that tickle the heart...and she loves to paint people's pets.
Leslie hasn't been painting all that long, but she's done some great work, which if you go to her blog and scroll down, you'll see what I'm talking about. Like everyone else who sees her paintings, I fell in love with them and when I read that Leslie was painting to raise money to help with her daughter's adoption, I was touched even more!
Leslie's daughter finally got her babes...a little boy and girl adopted in Tonga! Leslie went with her daughter to Tonga get her grandbabies...and what an adventure they had - it was a long, long process and very expensive but now they are home and all is well!
This is my beloved Caesar Beezer The Wonder Dog...ohhhh how I love him! Caesar is 13 1/2 years old and he's still naughty, still bites, growls and carries on whenever he doesn't get his way...but despite his bad behavior he is the heart of our home. I sent Leslie a couple of pictures of Caesar and she captured him beautifully...his curious little eyes, his slightly cooked smile and all of his fluffiness! I love how bright and colorful this painting is - and seeing my sweet little beast on canvas just warms my heart - yours, too, I'm sure!
Up close, without a flash, you can see the details - Leslie really "got" my Caesar..this is how his sweet little face looks right before he tries to take off my arm!
My painting is 20x20, stretched canvas over wood - there's something so fresh about this painting, even if you don't know Caesar (sad for you) I'm sure you'll agree it's just FUN! I haven't shown this to the mister yet because I'm saving it for his birthday. The mister, who's heart is two sizes too small, is totally wrapped around Caesar Beezer's paw...when Caesar whines, the mister jumps - he would do anything for his pooch! So I thought this would make a nice gift for him...as long as he hangs it where I want. I'm sure Leslie would love to paint something for you! You can leave her a message on her blog or you can find her on Facebook as Leslie Olpin Peterson and send her a message that way...she is VERY, VERY reasonable and as you can see, VERY talented! Thanks Leslie!! And congrats on your new grandbabies!
