I had been looking forward to Quilt Group for weeks! I was out of town last month and missed getting together with the girls and seeing their quilts. We always have such a good time and this month we had a fabulous time - in part because we had Allison Harris from Cluck Cluck Sew come and do a trunk show for us! It was so fun to meet her and see her quilts - all were "ooh and aah" worthy! We saw so many quilts at our meeting that I'm going to show them in two different posts. I know I haven't had a lot of quilts, or "pins" going on lately...I've just been so busy that I haven't had time to sew a button on a shirt let alone work on a quilt! So I'm super happy to be able to show you these quilts...to pacify you until I can get back into the nerve center and finish something!
Please forgive the various hands, feet and faces you might see peaking out from behind or in front of the quilts...we've already established I am NOT a photographer and this post will prove it once again! The quilt above was made by Lori and each little "gift tag" has the name of one of her kids or grandkids...it's adorable and more vibrant than this pic shows!
I've showed this quilt top before, but now it's finished, and it's worth a second showing! This is another Lori quilt - perfectly pieced and appliqued and check out her sweet border!
Lori brought in this quilt to show but it actually belongs to her sister...who is going to have a "fun" time binding it with those hexy-edges!
Lori attended the Riley Blake Fabric Fest in Vegas a few weeks back and while there she made the adorable British bag and the bag pictured on the right, which is fully lined with an oil-cloth outer fabric - both are fabulous! Now, that "thing" in the middle is a felt pillow for her newest grandson's nursery - it's not stuffed yet and it's covered with felt circles - so it's super soft.
Ardith just received the two quilts above from Terry, who quilted them for her. The quilt on the left is made with an alphabet panel, it's very sweet - sorry my pic is so bad! The quilt on the right is one Ardith made for her cabin on the water - sea-shelled themed and it's HUGE!
Marsha's quilt, Kareena's foot. You don't have to pay extra for these kind of shots! Marsha used one of Allison's patterns for this quilt - it's called Pow Wow, and the Wow should be emphasized because it's so WOWderful! Marsha claims there's a mistake in her quilt but no one could find it.
Neva made this sweet quilt for her mom - she is going to hang it on the wall at the foot of her bed so she can see it every morning. Dragonfly and bird fabrics - so, so cute.
Kareena made the tote bag above - it's one we all wanted - big enough to carry a few quilts! She also made, at Fabric Fest, the ornament table runner - said it was quick and easy - might be a fun one to make for Christmas gifts...(note to my sister: I'm just thinking out loud here so that doesn't necessarily mean you'll be getting one!)
I'm going to end this post now...Part Two will be up tomorrow...so stay tuned!
