Joni and Bob hosted an open house for their son Cassidy and his new bride, Tiffany...and that is why we drove to Sacramento last week - wouldn't have missed it! Joni, a true Joat (Jack of all trades), had everything under control - and she didn't miss a trick - I checked! She is so talented, well, here, let me show you a few things she's done...
Joni's kitchen island is just one of the many wonderful things in her home that she has made! She took an old dresser and put a top on it - then tiled it! It also doubles as a breakfast bar - is that great or what?!? And then there's this... Joni painted her family room coffee table with all the things she loves...I had NO idea she could paint! She's a bit intimidating to have as a friend as she does everything and does it well...good thing I love her! Notice those antique tea-cup candles? Janet, the mother of the bride, made those! AND, she also made these...
Janet collected vintage dinner sets and turned them in to these beautiful tiered pieces...apparently all you need is the right kind of drill bit - who knew?!? I think I see some of these in my future! Back to Joni, here are a few more things she made...
The picture wreath on the front door and the personalized pitcher on the mantel - both gifts for the bride and groom - clever, no?
The entry/book table had a sweet paper banner that spelled out Cass and Tiff, made by Joni...personal touches were everywhere!
Joni even painted her bench for the occasion...so, so sweet! Here's a few more pics from the evening...
There was a scrumptious spread of PINK! (The dessert plates were collected for the reception and the bride's mom brought them for Joni to use - all different, all antique, all so very pretty!) I did my best to stay away from the table as everything was coma-inducing, (and very good)...but eventually it all became too much for me and I succumbed to a piece of Joni's homemade divinity...okay, two pieces...
Joni has a green thumb - her yard was filled with color! I forget that outside of the rain forest people have sun and can grow flowers! Everything was so lovely - it was a perfect evening and the party spilled out into the yard where everyone oohed and aahed over the beauty of it all! We were so happy to be there - it was great to celebrate with our good friends!
Here's the happy couple - the Christmas quilt was my wedding gift for them, along with some Eiffel Tower salt and pepper shakers, (the mister and I met Tiffany for lunch last year in Paris, when she salts her food she can remember us!) Congratulations Tiffany and Cassidy and thanks Joni and Bob for a great getaway!!
