My younger-than-me sister who looks older-than-me had another 39th birthday in June. I had every intention of getting her birthday quilt to her before her birthday...but, as you know, the road to Heaven is paved with good intentions - and my road is completely solid and packed tightly with good intentions, it is, I fear, a road without end. So here it is, two months after the fact, and my sister is finally getting her gift...
My sister's bedroom is blue and red, at least it was when I started her quilt but it's probably been changed since then...she goes through bedding like most people go through Kleenex...I'm hoping it will match whatever is in there now. All French inspired fabrics were used as my sister loves France, not as much as me, but then, she is younger and her mind is not yet fully developed.
My younger-than-me sister who looks older-than-me has big blue eyes...which she freely batts at whoever walks by...she's quite the looker, that one! She's also funny and fun and she inherited the family Potty Humor Gene so there's a tad-bit of naughty in her, too, which I'm sure her co-workers love...unless they're the butt of one of her jokes..butt...chort, chuckle, snort...butt...hope it doesn't snore!
This is a very simple quilt, as most French designed quilts are. When I decided to make a quilt for her gift, I was going to make a whole-cloth quilt which is very French, probably would have gotten it to her sooner - but I like how this turned out and my sister loved her quilt! She got it last week and called me right away - said it matched her bedding - for now - and I think she's forgiven me for not having a gift for her ON her birthday.
Happy Belated Birthday little sister...did you know, according to expert research, older siblings are smarter than younger ones? Sad for you, being the baby and all...but we love you anyway.
