My friend asked me to make her a tablecloth for her dad's 80th birthday - and she asked for ideas...after thinking on it for a bit, I had her send me photo's of her siblings, thinking I would photo-transfer them onto the tablecloth along with a picture of her dad. When I opened the file to see the pictures, I knew I'd have to do things a bit differently because Carol just didn't send me pictures, she sent me family history!
The pictures were printed onto photo-fabric and then sewed onto the tablecloth with a black-jumbo-ric-rac "frame" and a black and white plaid trim around each picture. Carol sent pictures of all six kids when they were young and her parents wedding picture and some of when their family was still growing...it was very fun to make this for her - I felt like I was watching her family grow! This will surely be used at every family gathering Carol's family has for many years to come (as long as it is dry-cleaned because printer ink is not permanent!)
Wow, looks like I missed a few spots when I pressed it! This is really more than a tablecloth - it's a conversation starter! And it provides the topic! What more could any party ask for?!?
Can you see her sweet parents faces?!? Aren't they just the cutest?!? If Carol's dad is 80 then I guess they have been married for about 60 years - now that's really something!! I'm quite happy with how this turned out - I opted for black and white so any color could be used on top of the table - yep, I like this a lot - gonna have to make me one...darn it!
