I was not crazy about this top when I finished it - and so it sat for a very long time before I got around to quilting and binding it. But now that it's done...I'm liking it more and more. I took it to my quilt group meeting and they said it looked like "an Anthropologie Quilt"...and then I really liked it! I had planned to give this quilt away...but now I just might keep it - or if I do give it away, then it's definitely going to someone who is "quilt worthy!"
The funky green stripped binding turned this quilt around for me - it picked up the other weird greens in the quilt and tied it together - at least in my mind! The backing is a bright pink and green fabric - which was either given to me from someone who didn't want it or I picked it up at a thrift shop, I can't remember but it works with this quilt.
IF you haven't made a circle quilt, then you need to hop on the bandwagon - they are easy and fast and a great way to use up your stash. For the best tutorial on Circle Quilts, head on over to my friend Stephanie's blog, Make It A Wonderful Life, on the left side of her blog at the top you'll find the link. Trust me, you'll be in love with circle quilts with your first one!
While you're reading this, the mister and I are traipsing around the South of France...Oui!!! I'm shopping for Provence fabrics and eating my weight in cream sauce every day!!! Can't wait to show you what I've found!! But for now you'll just have to be content with my Circle Quilt...and really, now that I've posted these pictures, and seen this quilt in a whole new light...I'm definitely keeping this one!
Tomorrow we're off to St. Tropez and Monte Carlo!!! Wish me luck at the Roulette Tables! If I win big I'm NOT coming home!!! I'm going to buy a little cottage in Arles and grow lavender and channel Julia Childs and sew whole-cloth quilts for my new French neighbors...and build on an entire wing of guest rooms so you can all come and visit! So keep your fingers crossed and say a little prayer for me...that's not wrong, is it? To pray for someone to hit it big gambling?!? C'mon Lucky Seven!!! Or should I say, On! Allez! Chanceux Sept!
