Tick-tock! Counting today, there are only 228 days left until Christmas!! And this year I have vowed not to get caught with my Santa suit down around my Elf boots again! I am FINALLY finishing some Christmas projects started YEARS ago - one down, eleven to go!
This pattern called for French knots for the noses on the reindeer...after making about ten knots I realized that each nose would need about 250 knots...which was the FIRST reason I tossed this project aside...a year or two later I picked it up and it donned on me that I could just applique fabric for the noses...duh! I tossed it aside again when I noticed I had Donner's name written as DONDER...me, the lover of ALL things Christmas, the one who always writes my home town as The North Pole, the one who thinks of reindeer as siblings...and I spelled Donner's name wrong!! That was enough to make me toss it in the trash but instead I buried it in my "to finish" basket. Well, I dug it out last week...realized I could fix the name without too much trouble (I'm so sorry Donner, please forgive me!) and after taking the last stitch in the binding I noticed I had completely left off Cupid's name!! (Not to worry Cupid, you can clearly see it's there now!) And now that it's done I wonder why it took me so long?!?
