One of the fun things about visiting my sister's/mom's/daughter's house is that I get to see the things I've made for them over the years - most of which I've forgotten about - like the lazy susans...
All three of these are different - yet the same...and all three are made from purchased lazy susans from Ikea...for $7.00. My friend Nancy, a whiz-bang at everything artistic, is the one who introduced me to this great gift idea and I followed her lead and have been making them for gifts ever since! The lazy susans at Ikea come lightly stained and a very light sanding is all that is needed to prep them. I use a Dremel
More snow! About 5 inches fell at my mom's house...Mother Nature is seriously messed up and it's starting to get to me! I'll be flying home soon so I won't have any more snow to deal with but one of the things I will miss about visiting my family is my mom's handicap parking permit...when I chauffeur her around we get to park right up front in a handicap spot...I get immense pleasure out of parking right outside the door...I wonder why that is? The last pic on the right is my and the girl's attempt at an April Fool's Day dessert...spaghetti and meatball cupcakes! We saw this idea on MSN and decided we had to try it...only we used mini-cupcakes instead of regular sized one...so our "meatballs" are a little on the large size! Squiggled frosting for the spaghetti, raspberry jam for the sauce and chocolate covered peanuts for the meatballs...any April Fool would love these!!
