For all of you Seattleites...this is a MUST-SEE-GO-TO-SPOT...The Christmas Shop at Timber Creek is, from first appearances, a very unassuming little place. It's located at 25629 NE Redmond-Fall City Road...midway between Redmond and Fall City and when you see the giant Tee-Pee out front you'll know you've found it. I've driven by this place a zillion times - never stopping because I wrongly assumed some little old lady lived there and that she made and sold crocheted toilet paper covers...and that couldn't be farther from the truth. The main part of this 2,000 square foot store, which is open all year, is Western...as in clothing, boots, jewelry, purses, art, and cool, cool gifts and decor...like the glass cowboy hat that I practically drooled on...don't ask why, it just spoke to me. And then there is the Christmas shop...oh my...unlike anything I've seen. Tiny in size but stuffed to the rafters with wonderful, fantasy inducing and surely magical Christmas ornaments, snowmen, candles, cards, nativity sets, and Santas...plus hot cocoa mixes and chocolates, including their best-selling Chocolate-Bacon-Candy Bar...you must try it...even if the thought of it makes you want to throw up in your mouth.
Oh...they have the cutest nostalgic/vintage Christmas styles and to-die-for displays...be sure to notice the flying Santa and his reindeer!
They've got some upcoming events I want to let you know about...so mark your calendars:
This Saturday and Sunday, November 21st and 22nd: Chocolate Martinis, Sipping Chocolate, even Vegan Chocolates! Missionary Chocolates of Portland will be there making Truffles for tasting from noon until 5:00.
Saturday and Sunday, November 28th and 29th: Photos With Santa! Take your kids and/or pets for photos with Santa in their antique sleigh and there's no charge! 11:00 to 5:00
I didn't have my camera or I would have bombarded you with pictures...but then, they wouldn't have done the place justice. You can get a teensy taste of the place by going to their website ...but sad to say their website doesn't capture the fun or uniqueness of the place so kids, listen up, I rarely rave about a place to shop...but this place, well, it's worth the trip. Tell 'em Nan sent you...just so you can hear them say, Who's Nan?
