This is late - as our quilt meeting was over a week ago - but with all the turkey, trimmings and detangling the Christmas lights, I just plum forgot! So, without further adieu...
Helen got us rolling by bringing in some of her old Christmas quilts - we just love seeing them, even if we've seen them before!
If these quilts don't put you in the mood for a Hallmark Christmas movie and a tub of popcorn to string for your tree then I don't know what will! The quilt pictured on the right above was a group block exchange from 1999! Helen is hand-quilting this quilt and I think she and Barbara are the only ones who put their blocks together...shame on me...but now I'm motivated to get mine done! (I say that every year!)
All of the above, except for the one pictured on the right, are from Helen - I took a pic of one of the sayings Helen has embroidered on her Christmas quilt - it's my very favorite quilt of hers - at least today it is. The quilt above right is Stephanie's scrap quilt...literally made with scraps she took OUT of the trash can after one of our sewing days...she is amazing!
Close up shot of Stephanie's scrap block...and her sock quilt - never get tired of seeing them! The circle quilt, that just won't die, is also Stephanie's...love her colors!
Denise, new grandma to baby Katherine Grace, brought in her fall table runner. Marsha brought in her wonky umbrella quilt - that's the name I've given it...and Terry wowed us with her halloween quilt that has embroidered blocks.
Close ups of Terry's work - isn't she clever? Putting a spider web in the corner of the border - and mitering the corners of the block borders...IF there is a way to make a quilt MORE perfect, Terry does it!
Terry's Christmas circle quilt on the left and Michelle's Thanksgiving quilt on the right - SO much cuter in person!
That's it - I'm sure we'll have a lot of handmade Christmas things to show next month...got to get busy!
