While Baby Max has been off visiting his other grandparents (I'm trying so hard to be nice about it!) I've been making his birthday suit for his first birthday...the girl has a theme in mind...sh'es going to do a Where The Wild Things Are party and Baby Max will be transformed into the Max from the book where he will frolic with The Wild Things at his party - which I can only assume will be his guests!
I can hardly believe that Baby Max is going to have his first birthday soon...it seemed like it took forever for him to get here (8 years) and now he's already a year old! Time is going WAY too fast!
I haven't sewn on the ears yet - Baby Max will be back tonight (for one last night with his REAL grandma - sorry, I hate being selfish but when it comes to MY Max I have tunnel vision!) so we'll have plenty of time for his "fitting." I added some claws to the feet, (clipped them off of the boy's halloween slasher gloves!) and still need to sew on the buttons, and when the girl gets back to her home she's going to snip off the tail from Max's Davy Crockett 'coon skin hat to pin to the back...so with ANY luck at all it will fit and the girl will be happy and Baby Max will be king of the wild things!
Cupcake toppers are next on my "to do" list for the big day...I've got a few things in mind and if they work I'll be sure to show you!
