I'm home and feeling quite sad - I'm missing Baby Max terribly - and the girl, too, who is doing better each day. But back to Baby Max for a minute...I just need to say what a wonderful baby he is! I know, I know, I always say that but, as a Truth-Writer (I just made that up) I am obligated to...that way you can't think I'm just saying that because I'm the grandma!
Anywho, on the flight down and back I worked on my new tea cozy! Speaking of flights, I used to be a front-sitter on planes, after I heard that the front of the plane had the safest seats. But last week on TV I heard the FAA guy say that the safest seats were in the exit rows or very close to them which makes total sense so I sat right in front of the exit row on both flights. When the flight attendant was finished briefing the guys seated next to the exit doors I turned around and asked them, politely, if they would make sure to grab me before they jumped to safety - I would be the one screaming in front of them - fortunately their services weren't needed. Just for your information, except for airplanes in any and all other scenarios involving seating, I am a back-sitter...this interesting tidbit may come in handy one day - you never know!
I was visiting Freda's Hive one day, she had made some adorable tea pot blocks and I clicked on a link that took me to someplace and then I clicked on another and another and ended up on a blog that had a tea cozy that I fell in love with!...only I didn't write down who's blog it was!!! I'm so sorry - I would totally give that person credit if I knew who it was! Anyway, I loved her tea cozy - mine is not quite the same as the one I saw but close - hers was much nicer but I'm thrilled with how mine turned out and it was great to have a project to take along on my trip - so thanks to whoever posted that darling cozy on their blog! (In case you hadn't noticed, I adore things that are impractical, fussy and huge time-wasters...they make my world go 'round!)
On to toast - because nothing goes better with tea than toast - especially Camomile tea, which is my favorite!
I discovered this Toast Stamper at Archie McPhee - only the greatest store in the world! Lucky for me Archie McPhee is located in Seattle, Ballard to be exact, so I am able to go there frequently...lucky for you they have a great mail-order department so you can order one of these stamps for your Valentine today - just like I did!
This works just as well on white bread as it does wheat - you stamp it before it goes into the toaster...this morning I stamped some bread, toasted it, slathered it with butter and served it to the mister...he picked it up without even looking at it and ate it...both slices...decorated toast is sooo lost on him!
The boy was working this morning so I wasn't able to see if HE would notice...but no matter, I LOVE eating stamped toast!
It tastes better!
