Here's a sneak peek at a little item I've been working on for my friend's daughter's wedding that's next week...this is what I started with - a tomato cage...
I sprayed the tomato cage white - wired the three ends together...then the fun started...a little glue and wire ... added a few jewels, some beads and punch bowl cups...
It appears to be a bit crooked but it's not...just the photographer is crooked...this can hang, like a chandelier, but for the wedding it will be used on the food table as the centerpiece and there will be greenery around the base - which is why I haven't added any jewels there...
The crystal punch bowl cups hold votive candles...sweet, no? Actually, I can't lay claim to this idea - I stole it - saw it in a wonderful shop and copied it...my apologies to the originator of this brilliant idea! But the bride wants shabby chic - and as you know, I'm an expert on shabby - but the chic usually eludes me...I'm not quite finished with this yet...maybe a few more jewels...too much is usually just enough!
I used old costume jewelry, pearl strands, glass bells (Christmas ornaments), old keys, old buttons, crystals from an old chandelier and purchased glass beads and silver hearts...it's almost "there" but not quite...I had to stop working on it because my fingers are all so badly burned from the hot glue! We have quite a bit more wedding "bizness" to take care of before the big day - so I'm off to work!
