First, let me just thank all of you for reading!!! WOW! I have had a huge jump in traffic and I'm loving it! So if you've forwarded my blog on to friends or told them to check it out, I thank you! And if you haven't, what are you waiting for?! Come on, make my Christmas...IF you tell your friends/enemies about my blog and IF I get another huge bump in traffic...I'll start the New Year off with another quilt giveaway...oh yes I will! Now that THAT'S out of the way...let's get down to bizness...Let's say you're not a coffee drinker or even a tea drinker, then that leaves hot cocoa...and while there is nothing wrong with hot cocoa, sometimes it's nice to have another option given the outlandish cup of calories that REAL hot cocoa can conceal - not that crappola that is poured out of a packet and mixed with water...surely that causes cancer or something! So, continuing on...I've got an option for you...a real option...something warm and tasty, something to curl up with in the afternoon, while you go to Oprah "U" or Heaven forbid, watch a Law and Order rerun...they're on 24/7 you know...and I suppose there are Law and Order addicts out there who would take me out behind the barn for that comment, but in the end, ballistics would get them. So this recipe is that something. Hot, sweet and tangy...it's sure to hit the spot after a grueling day at the mall!
Grape-Lemonade Tea - Adapted from Janice Ryther's Recipe
1 cup unsweetened grape juice (or sweetened if you're a sugar freak)
1 teaspoon frozen lemonade concentrate
1/2 cup water
1 packet sweetener or 1 teaspoon sugar
1 cinnamon stick
Pour grape juice, lemonade concentrate, water and sweetener into a large mug. Stir until blended. Heat in microwave for approximately 1 minute on high, or until steaming hot. Remove and stir in cinnamon stick. Enjoy!
