I woke this morning to a bit of a brisk morn...Fall is definitely in the air so it was time to get out some of my Fall things...not the Halloween stuff, oh no, that won't make an appearance until the 1st of October - I do have my priorities! I thought I'd show you two of my favorite Fall quilts. This first one was made as a group project, it was a bugger! But it's backed with flannel and is soft and cozy and the perfect quilt to take to the Seahawks game - big enough to wrap up in but not too big!
This next quilt is special...but I didn't know that when I made it. It ended up being featured in the book, Quilt Along With Emilie Richards, published by Leisure Arts. Emilie Richards is a bestselling author of women's fiction, selling over 50 novels. Her book, Endless Chain, a July 2005 hardcover novel, is a story about human rights and a community that is bound together by quilting. The "Quilt Along" book offers Emilie's fans a chance to create their own versions of the quilts that make "appearances" in her novels. When I was asked to submit an Autumn Leaf quilt I had no idea that it would make the book - but my quilt fit perfectly with the quilt in the story.
"Quilts mean so many different things to different people. But in the end, the quilts we make are always about something in our hearts." Tessa MacCrae, Endless Chain
