I wanted to give my friend a thank-you for the times she's taken me out on her boat...but what?!? Then I remembered she had a somewhat worn (translation: ratty) ORANGE flag that is held up when a skier is in the water to alert other boats...so I decided to make her a new flag - something cute and fun, just like her...
I sewed and sewed...and even had to use a POWER TOOL...a staple gun fits in that category because it takes power to hold it straight on a wooden curved dowel with a bum shoulder...so I was quite proud of my little flag...and then the mister came home....I showed him my handiwork, beaming, and he said, "That's great but when someone is in the water the flag has to be ORANGE, because that's the color that's used." Fascinating, no? I was certain he was just blowing hot air so I ignored him, tied a pretty ribbon around the stick and added a little note and went and stuck the flag in the ground by her front door so she would see it when she came home...Well, as it turns out, the man who THINKS he knows something about everything must have dug deep for his ORANGE flag comment because he was right....I HATE when that happens! When someone is in the water the flag needs to be ORANGE...now YOU know too.
