I think I've found the perfect place for MY next wedding...hey...a girl has to be prepared! Last night I attended a reception at the very prestigious Seattle Tennis Club...which I didn't even know existed because I'm not prestigious...and even though the skies were cloudy and threatening rain, and the wind was blowing over the water and we were freezing...it was an absolutely beautiful spot...
Located on the shores of Lake Washington, with a view of Mt. Rainier in the background, the Seattle Tennis Club has one of the premier addresses in Seattle...I could visualize myself standing there, in a long white dress, tresses cascading down over my derriere, veil blowing gently in the breeze, diamond sparkling so brightly guests need to wear sunglasses, gazing deeply and longingly into the eyes of the mister...NOT!
The flowers were gorgeous! (I was the lucky recipient of one of the centerpieces!!) They were so summery and vibrant that they almost made us forget about the weather! Fortunately only the ring ceremony was outside, the reception was held in the Grande Ballroom, with dinner, toasts and dancing...(just a side note to the girl...the band was Harley Brumbaugh and the Horns-a-Plenty...the same one we had at your reception...and the same band that every reception that's had a band has used...so I take great pride in having introduced them to everyone! I should be getting a booking fee of some sort! And they were every bit as great last night as they were at your reception!)
The entire evening was like something out of a chick-flick movie...girlfriends laughing together while surrounded by everything wedding...husbands opted not to come so it was the perfect girls night out.
Bride and groom, Kirstin and James, were very happy! As were the bride's mom and grandma...and it was wonderful to see - they deserved it!
