Lori and I had two very successful garage sale days in a row...lots of great trinkets, including a really nice glazed saucepan...heavy as lead and made in Belgium ...for 50 cents....I was thrilled! It was just the right size for the last remaining artichoke in the fridge...I put in the water, put it on the stove and promptly forgot about it...
It was such a nice pan :( and I scrubbed and scrubbed but alas, it died. The artichoke had a disgusting metallic taste, so it was quickly sent to the disposal...and the house smelled like a blacksmith's barn for hours. Oh well, at least it was just 50 cents and not the $50 it would have cost new!
