After years of waiting I'm down to just 3 weeks before my grandson is due to arrive...THREE WEEKS! It's just so exciting I can't tell you! Yesterday, with the clock ticking, I furiously worked to finish some projects for the little one...
He has a Sock Monkey nursery - so when I found this Sock Monkey oil cloth at Esther's on Bainbridge Island, I had to get some! It's a diaper bag and the inside is lined with the same Sock Monkey pattern only in fabric not oil cloth. By the way, for you Seattleites who sew...Esther's has moved - around the corner from where it used to be - smaller but still crammed with all kinds of good things.
Not that I would know...but I have it on good authority that a nursing mom needs more than one Hooter Hider...so this is the second one...surely she won't need more than two?!?
If you want the pattern to make your own, email me and I'll send it to you - they are quick and easy to whip up and you'll save yourself $50!
These "Ugly Dolls" were a special request from my nieces...who think I have nothing better to do with my time than sit around and make things for them...oh, that's probably true...they are lovely little human beans!
Gracie, the youngest - the one with a rattlesnake-like personality (one minute she's sweet, the next she's ready to strike!) emailed me - begging for a doll...how could I refuse?
Not much to look at here but there are three projects pictured....the top fabric and the one in the middle are actually crib sheets for my little angel...the red fabric in back is a valance for his room...and once that is hung I think everything will be done - we'll just need him in the crib to make it perfect!
Crib sheets are super simple - I had NO idea how easy they are to make, for a pattern, click here: http://www.getcreativeshow.com/seminars/crib_sheets.htm
Today I have just a few things to finish and then I'm off to celebrate my mom's 75th birthday with her in Utah...she's going to have an old-fashioned birthday party with friends, gifts and cake...I tried to get the Chippendale dancers to drop by but they were booked! So no one will be jumping out of a cake but I guess at her age that's a good thing!
