It stands in silvery beauty! It reminds me of the tree my Grandma had when I was little - although it looks nothing like hers! The fake tree, to appease the tree hugger I live with, is set up in the living room - but we always have a fresh cut tree in the family room to appease me...so, like we do every year, the boy and I went off in search of a tree...lot to lot - one sorry looking tree after another and each one was terribly expensive...it was rather depressing. So we called it quits for the day and went to Target to get some ornament hooks when lo and behold what did we spy? But this fabulous glittery tree - begging to come home with us! I weighed the pros and cons...it came in a box and it's not fresh...it's sparkly and prelit...in TWO years it will have paid for itself...it doesn't smell pine-y...Glade air freshener, aisle 6, to the rescue...the tree hugger will love it...it's much smaller that a fresh tree, allowing more room for our Christmas play....SOLD!
Caesar Beezer The Wonder Dog watched the boy carefully, after all, he is a human dog...a thinker, smarter than the average mutt, and he loves trees...so we kept a close watch on him, too!
It's brighter and more sparkly in person - and I couldn't be happier with it...this year I added arms to my snowman tree, using real branches and then stuck mittens on the ends...snowflakes falling from above - cute, no? I was afraid I had gone a bit over the edge, as I usually do, but I was assured by my friend of good taste that it was great...I missed getting the train that runs around the bottom of the tree in this shot - the boy moaned loudly about carrying it down from the imaginary baby's room but once he had it set up he couldn't leave it alone - I think he's missed having it in HIS room!
Now that Christmas is up I can get on with the baking and shopping...and eating!

Stumble It!
Your snowman tree looks wonderful. I just love how you added arms and gloves. I can't wait to hear about all the Christmas goodies you make. Feel free to drop some by my house if you have too many. :-)
