And to my Marine, the mister...tonight I'll serve him S--t on a Shingle and I'll salute Sergeant Slaughter just for fun...I hope The Girl and The Boy will one day understand his sacrifice - why he served two tours in Vietnam and why he doesn't talk about it. I hope they'll understand why fireworks makes him jumpy, why the sound of a low-flying helicopter unnerves him and why he never goes barefoot...never. I hope they understand there are those who continue to sacrifice today in Irag, Arghanistan and all around the globe...it's an amazing thing when you stop to think about it. The mister is no longer 165 pounds soaking wet and it's been years since he's buttoned up the dress blues...but...once a Marine, always a Marine. Semper Fi BS and thanks, from your number one fan..

Stumble It!
Semper Fi and thank him for his service. My son is a USMC Captain and even though his tours in Iraq shot my nerves to h---, he loves it and I couldn't be prouder.

my hubby was a Marine, at the very end of VietNam, then medically discharged - kicking and screaming - right after the start of the Desert Storm.
Semper fi and ooh-rah!
happy birthday to all Marines.

Please tell your DH that I said thank you for his service so that I may be free to read this post from his lovely wife. There isn't much that I can do to show my thanks but my dog and I visit our local VA Hospital, I don't know who enjoy it more us or the Vets.
