Stumble It!
There is NOTHING better than a BIG SCORE at a garage sale! Nothing! Last Friday, I made one of my biggest...take a look at my new bedroom chairs that set me back a whopping $5 a piece....FIVE BUCKS EACH!!!
They're great, no? Of course, there was some damage...but I dare you to find it! Okay, I'll save you the time, the arms have a few chew marks...and there are some knicks on the legs but really, who cares?!? They've got that shabby-chic-lived-in-damaged-coming-out-of-the-castle-in-Europe-look! Once in the car, I realized WHY they were only $5....they smelled...no, make that STUNK...as in cat pee/dog pee and any other pee you can imagine. Horrid! But I wasn't going to give up so easily...I removed the slipcovers and washed them - they came out beautifully. I threw out the cushions and replaced them with new ones...and then there was the matter of the front of one of the chairs - so I took it outside and hosed it down with water and then cleaned it with an Enzyme cleaner...3 days later they are dry and pee-free...not only can't my highly-developed sense of smell detect pee odor, neither can Caesar Beezer The Wonder Dog - would who pee on ANYTHING with even the slightest HINT of animal scent...they smell like a fresh garden on a summer day! And they look fab in my room. (The enzyme cleaner I used is called Cancel and I buy it from a local vacuum cleaning supply company. It takes out everything...vomit, pee, milk that was spilled in a hot car! You name it - it works and it works great! Anyone with a pet and/or a kid needs this stuff!)
