  • About Fabric...and Quilts....
    Being a quilter for over 30 years, I've learned one thing that's for sure (as my good friend Ops - short for Oprah - would say) and that's this: You can't go wrong if you buy too much! You will never be forced to have a "close enough" fabric in a quilt again! I've always said that I make 30-foot quilts - or put another way, quilts that look good from 30 feet away! One day I hope to make "inchers." In the meantime, as I struggle to make points match, I'm happily trying to cover every bed, sofa, and chair in my house with a quilt - that's normal, right? Quilt Gifts...

I have a few more pics to show you from the last quilt meeting - these are some of the gifts that were exchanged...oh to be one of the lucky gals who received one of these!!!Barbara mitt  Helen purse 















Barbara made the apron and hot pad on the left, the apron is adorable, too bad it didn't get in the shot!  Helen made the darling purse above, wouldn't it be fun to tote that beauty around?!  Especially if it was filled with cash!  Hey - a girl can dream!

Michelle made the apron above on the right along with a hot pad made from selvedges!  Michelle is going to make a quilt made entirely from selvedges...the first thing I do when I buy new fabric is remove the selvedge and set it aside for her...I want her to make this quilt MORE than she does!  Stephanie made the adorable framed cupcake picture...now how sweet is that?!?  I heard that all of the gifts were winners...and with the talent in this group I know they were!
